01 · The designs

Same garage. Two first impressions.

Concept A: the homepage in charcoal and red, with a Porsche in the workshop

Dark, fast and unmistakably motorsport, led by your racing background. It keeps your red, charcoal and italic style, and takes the slant of your logo throughout. Best if you want to stand out as the garage run by people who race.

Bright, clean and welcoming, led by your people and how easy you are to deal with. Enter your reg and book from the first screen. Best if you want every customer, from school runs to supercars, to feel in safe hands.

These are concepts, so the booking and links don't send anything yet, and other pages would follow. The words, prices and photos come from your current site, apart from the new headlines, and can all be changed. Your logo has been redrawn so it stays sharp at any size; with the original file we'd match it exactly.

Eight ways your website could work harder.

We looked through the public site on 5 November 2026, on a computer and a phone. All of it can be fixed, some of it quickly, whichever design you prefer.

Let people book from the first screen

Today

The first screen has no button. On a phone, the first Book Now is nearly three-quarters of the way down, and the number is in the menu.

The form is on its own page and has no option for repairs. On phones its phone, email and reg boxes share one row. The date box runs month first and accepts past dates.

The opportunity

Booking and your number always in view, and a quick three-step form with repairs included, so people book when they're ready. WhatsApp stays as one of the choices, rather than the main one.

Make the first impression quicker

Today

The homepage downloads 8.2 MB, largely four full-size photos of up to 2 MB each. The top of the page sits as a grey wash while they arrive.

The first visit to a page can also hang before anything appears. We measured waits of 3.2, 5.7 and 8.1 seconds, then about 0.1 seconds once it had loaded.

The opportunity

Your photos can look just as good at a fraction of the size. Both designs come in under 2.5 MB, loading photos as you reach them. Better caching and a look at the hosting should remove the wait, which matters most for someone on a phone with a broken-down car.

Tell Google what you do and where

None of the 14 main pages has a search description, and 5 have no main heading, including the homepage. Its title is "R6 Automotive - R6 Automotive", and service pages don't mention a place, such as "Tyres - R6 Automotive".

The site's description for search engines says "Mechanic in Farnham", while you're in Kingsley, near Bordon.

The opportunity

Clear titles, headings and descriptions on every page, saying what you do and naming Bordon, Kingsley and the towns you serve, so you show up for the searches that bring in work. If Farnham matters, it can have its own page.

Help Google and AI tools understand you

Behind the scenes, the site only tells search engines you're an organisation. Nothing marks you out as a garage, or lists your services, prices, hours or reviews.

The opportunity

Add that information in the format search engines and AI assistants read. It's how a business gets stars and details in results, and gets named when someone asks an AI tool for a good garage near Bordon.

Show how good you are, straight away

Today

The reviews box says 10 reviews and leads with some from two years ago, while Google shows 5.0 from 35. The racing background, 12-month warranty, courtesy cars and collection are easy to miss.

The opportunity

Your full review count, kept up to date, with the reasons to choose you in the first screen. Not many local garages can say they were founded by a racing driver.

Make car sales work harder

Today

Each car is typed in by hand, and all 10 are sold, under a line inviting people to "browse our latest stock". Sold cars still offer an enquiry form. Mileage shows as kilometres where the description says miles, and some listing details still look like sample text.

On screens narrower than about 1,340 pixels, including many laptops, the enquiry box is partly cut off.

The opportunity

A listing page built for you, in miles and pounds, with current stock first and sold cars as proof of what you find. A "tell us what you're after" form means even a sold car can bring in a lead. If you advertise on a site like AutoTrader, we could look at feeding stock in, so each car is only entered once.

Give each workshop update its own page

Today

You're posting great work, but every update sits on one long page. There are no separate articles for Google to find or for customers to share, and photos appear small on phones.

The opportunity

Each update gets its own page and link, with photos at full size, tied to the service it shows. The Superleggera story could then be found by someone searching for that kind of specialist work.

A quick tidy-up behind the scenes

Today

We couldn't find a privacy policy, which matters as the forms collect personal details. A Google Analytics cookie appeared before we'd made a cookie choice, and was still there after Reject All.

The WhatsApp links at the top and bottom of the page go to two different numbers. A test copy of the site is publicly visible, and there are a few small security settings we'd rather go through with you directly.

The opportunity

Usually quick to put right, and worth doing whichever way you go. It's also worth checking with whoever hosts the site that October's PHP security updates are in place, as we can't see that from outside.

Built for more than a homepage.

These designs show the homepage, but the menu in both is planned around everything you do. Open Services or Car sales at the top of either design to see it.
